Hayes Product and Service Testimonials
"Thanks a bunch for getting the final design spec and quote over to me. I just spoke with Anna at your office and provided her with the shipping and payment info. On a side note, your estimate was just about spot on, and I’m not sure how you and your team make it happen, but the pricing for this item, seems surreal. I am officially impressed by your organization. Keep up the good work." Ricky from CA
"Regardless the outcome, however, I would like to commend all the folks there at Hayes for their prompt replies and sincere interest in this matter. Its refreshing to deal with a company today that still maintains the (old world) customer relations spirit ... THANKS !!! " Customer from Texas
"Anna, Part arrived and we are already under sail out of Boston!! Thanks so much for your help and excellent service!!! Fair Winds!, Beth Doxsee"
"Thanks for the follow-up. The project is still active and you gave us everything we asked for as usual! We dont need a follow-up call at this time. We have a fair bit of design work on our end before this project gets to the purchasing stage, but when that happens, we plan on using your coupling. We also think the price is reasonable considering the quality of the product. I deal with Mike Lawson a lot, and he always responds right away with drawings and cad models. This works great for us and is another reason to use Hayes products.Thank you!" Customer from the Carolinas

"I am proud to say that we closed the order with one of your new products, part #150-010-04-L. I am glad to see that some manufacturers still try to improve. It is a pleasure dealing with everyone in the organization, and Mike Lawson has always been extreemly helpful and one of the reasons I continue to call back." Customer from Indianapolis, IN
"Speaking for myself and my colleagues, Hayes is a benchmark supplier that we wish our other suppliers would aspire to in terms of quality customer service,
quality products and effective communication while still retaining a competitive edge. Naturally this mirrors our ethos. Suffice to say, we are conscious on a daily basis of
wanting to grow the Hayes product line as much as possible which compliments our engine lines perfectly. Later this month we are exhibiting at the Atlantic Heavy Equipment Show
in New Brunswick where Hayes will be heavily promoted along with our other products. Have a good day and please convey our thanks to your team - keep up the good work!"

Hayes Product Sails The World
I am a full time cruiser on a 35-foot Cherokee Catamaran (circa 1975) that was installed with originally a Perkins engine hooked to hydraulic pumps and two hydraulic engines. In 2001 while in Trinidad I re-powered with a Yanmar 3JH3E attached to a Parker dual hydraulic pump through a Hayes coupler system. Six months ago, in Australia, I again re-powered with a Yanmar 3JH4E and the above Parker pump and Hayes system was reattached to the new engine.
About a month ago while sailing up the Indonesian archipelago the two bolts that attached the pump to the engine housing cover either they worked loose or just stripped their threads. In the disengagement some of the spline teeth took a beating but being in the middle of nowhere I managed to reattach the pump to the housing using imperial inch bolts which managed to rethread themselves into the aluminum housing. This lasted for about three weeks enough to get with 50 nm of Singapore when all connection between Yanmar and pump ceased. It turned out both the teeth on the spline and the Hayes female coupling had stripped totally.
I was close enough to Singapore to sail the remainder of the journey over the next week.
Thanks for the prompt reply. In answer to your questions the measurements are as follows: The over all flywheel diameter is approximately 11 3/4 inches, but the area that the plate fits into on the flywheel is 10 3/4 inches. And in fact the old plate measures 10 13/16th inches. The flywheel housing measures 14 inches across and in fact the old covering of the Hayes system measured 14 1/4 inches across.
Thanks for the 'bolt report'. I should have no trouble with the 1/2-13 bolts as I have a stock on board. As well it may explain why the pump came loose from the mounting surface in the first place. I think someone along the way used metric bolts instead of imperial to attach the pump and though it worked for a time it eventually stripped the threads enough to pop loose.
Such is the life of a cruiser. You have to watch every nut and bolt that a non-yachtie may use in any boat work on your boat and the reason why if at all possible do it yourself, - which is what I am doing with this project.
Thanks for everything so far. I will let you know how things go. I am headed to Tailand next week
This is just a small sampling of the praise we receive regarding the quality of our flywheel couplings, drive couplings, stub shafts, and our exceptional service.
